Ambassador Anne Hall Remarks at the “Blossom of Hope” Aid Handover Ceremony
National Cancer Institute, Santariškių g. 1, Vilnius
May 5, 2018
(as prepared for delivery)
Dear distinguished guests,
It is a privilege and a delight to be here with you today for this handover ceremony at the National Cancer Institute. First let me acknowledge and congratulate the amazing success of the 2018 Blossom of Hope Gala in May for raising a record high amount of money for the important and wonderful work the IWAV committee does every year.
Blossom of Hope’s program to distribute biopsy needles and breast markers to Lithuanian oncology hospitals in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, and Siauliai not only reduces the severity of cancer through early detection, but helps promote the importance of women’s health care in general.
I would like to thank the Director of the Cancer Institute, Professor Feliksas Jankevičius, and Professor Sonata Jarmalaite.
I am honored that IWAV asked me to serve as patron of the 2018 Gala and to participate in this handover ceremony. It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of something so special.
Thank you!
