I would like to express my admiration for the courage and vigor Lithuanians consistently have exhibited in building an independent and democratic state.  Please also accept my deepest thanks for the great kindness and friendship you extended to me and my family when we served in Lithuania. Congratulations on this important occasion!

Mary and I are honored to congratulate President Grybauskaitė, the Lithuanian Government, and the Lithuanian people on the centennial anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian independence. It was an honor and a privilege to represent the United States to Lithuania, our great friend and ally, from 2006 to 2009.
