Another transit option to the United States is via Minsk and a Western European city. American citizens can enter Belarus via its land border (closest is Medininkai – Kamienny Loh crossing) in order to take a flight to the Western Europe and then the United States. A transit visa from Belarus is required and travelers are not subject to quarantine if they remain in-country for less than 48 hours. To obtain a transit visa, a person needs to work with a local travel agency and receive a Diplomatic letter from the U.S. Embassy. If you are interested in this route, please call or write the consular section at consec@state.gov for more information.
