Travel Update
More flights are becoming available. It is currently possible to travel from Vilnius to Riga or Frankfurt. Next week Tallinn will be added to the list.
Traveling with pets will become possible starting next month. Lufthansa airlines will be lifting the embargo on pet travel starting from June 2nd. Depending upon the kind of animal, its weight and size, and the regulations applicable in different countries, transport is possible at an extra cost either as additional carry-on baggage in the passenger cabin or as excess baggage in the aircraft’s air-conditioned cargo hold. Lufthansa Cargo also offers the transport of the above-listed animals and other species as air freight. The highest chance for pet’s confirmation as excess baggage for travel from Vilnius would be starting from July 1st, when Lufthansa is planning on resuming the 6:30 AM flights to Frankfurt.
Please note that restrictions imposed on the transport of hares and rabbits as well as dogs and cats belonging to snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds is still in effect on Lufthansa operated flights.
