U.S. Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell Visits Vilnius

On October 31, Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell visited Vilnius for a series of bilateral meetings, including at the Presidency and with Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius, and Minister of Defense Raimundas Karoblis.  The main topics of discussion included strengthening our collaborative efforts to enhance security and counter disinformation and malign influence in the region.   The Assistant Secretary also highlighted the strong partnership between the United States and Lithuania and congratulated his interlocutors on the centennial of the restoration of Lithuanian independence.

Assistant Secretary Mitchell’s trip to Lithuania was one of several stops he made in Europe.
